Although the Army Corps of Engineers has received funding to fix flood-damaged levees in and around Kansas City, Mo., the agency may be unable to roll out all the repair projects soon, according to Corps of Engineers officials. The agency still needs to address cost-sharing agreements with levee sponsors as well as real estate issues before it can begin repair work on many nonfederal levees, said Col. Tony Hoffman of the Corps of Engineers.
