A multisector coalition in Michigan is throwing its support behind a proposed ballot initiative to increase the state's renewable-energy standard. Under the proposal, utilities would be required to get 25% of their power from renewable sources by 2025, up from the current standard of 10% by 2015. "There's 20 other states that ... have already adopted measures similar to the initiative, without significant increase in utility costs for consumers," said campaign spokesman Mark Fisk.
