Classroom technology should not be a supplement to existing practices, asserts Jennie Magiera, a member of the Teacher Leaders Network. Instead, "a technology-based redefinition" of teaching is necessary to make the most of the iPad tablet computers and other devices. She recommends teachers start from scratch, establish a clear goal, use mobile applications that could not be replicated without technology and be equally welcoming of failure and success.
