The U.N. is using Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube and Tumblr to document its work in an effort to improve its public image. Posts are translated into six languages, and generally focus on the feel-good aspects of the organization's work. "There's not much understanding of how the United Nations works out there, and we're using social media to get our message out," says Nancy Groves, the U.N.'s social media manager.
