Transradial PCI for patients with acute myocardial infarction led to a reduction in mortality: 9.3% at two years, compared with 17.3% for transfemoral PCI, researchers from the University of Ferrara in Italy reported. Treating patients through the radial artery also reduced the need for blood transfusions and vascular surgery, according to the study.
