Inactivity is no longer a marker for aging, with 71% of people 45 and older reporting they are physically moving and exercising, according to a study by AARP. Among the active, half report that walking is their favored exercise, with much smaller percentages naming cycling, treadmills and similar aerobic machines and weightlifting. Even so, 61% of those surveyed said their current level of activity is less now than it was five years ago.
