Roof replacement projects at two schools in central Massachusetts are expected to be completed by spring, according to design firm Russo Barr Associates, which is doing the work on both schools. Roof work at the Spaulding Elementary School in Townsend is expected to proceed slowly because it will have slate shingles and "it didn't make a lot of sense to have a contractor try to install products that are temperature sensitive just yet," Russo Barr President Jim Russo said. Work at the elementary school in Ashby is part of a green-repair job.
