The pace of offshore-drilling permits is improving nearly two years after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and subsequent drilling moratorium, said Shell Oil President Marvin Odum. Shell now has five active Gulf drilling rigs and will add two more in the near future, Odum said during the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association's annual meeting. "Shell has always had confidence that we'll get back to where we need to be," he said.
