Researchers from Louisiana State University have found Paedophryne amauensis, the smallest known vertebrate, a frog that measures approximately a quarter of an inch, smaller than a dime. The frog's size serves it well in its habitat of brush leaves where it eats minuscule insects not preyed on by larger frogs. The tiny frogs also serve as prey for larger predators.
