Spanish researchers found that women with obstructive sleep apnea were more likely to die from a heart attack and develop other heart illnesses compared with women without the disorder. Death from heart problems was highest in women with untreated apnea, particularly those with severe conditions. Women with sleep apnea treated with continuous positive airway pressure had the same death rate as women without the disorder.
