Chips made with 28-nanometer dimensions are a fast-growing segment for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing. "We expect [the] 28nm ramp this year to be fast and we expect 28nm will contribute more than 10% of total wafer revenue this year," said Morris Chang, chairman and CEO of the world's largest silicon foundry. Chang also said Samsung Electronics is becoming a serious competitor in the foundry business.
