U.S. business inventories increased 0.4% in December, following a 0.3% bump in November. The increase suggests that companies are replenishing their warehouses. "With employment gains, we can expect an improvement in demand," says Russell Price, senior economist at Ameriprise Financial. "Inventory building will remain a support to the economy and to manufacturing this year."
