Education officials in New York City are calling on the city's top middle schools to begin enrolling more students with special needs to more closely match the percentage of students with special needs who attend other district schools. The directive follows similar guidelines released in recent months for the elite high schools, and is part of the city's effort to increase the inclusion of students with special needs throughout city schools.
