Education Week blogger Peter DeWitt describes a recent evaluation he did in which a veteran teacher had to adapt when the Internet went down and she couldn't use her whiteboard. While this instance showed why education shouldn't be too dependent on technology, DeWitt also argues that many schools make a mistake by restricting student use of digital devices. Banning technology altogether sends the wrong message, he writes; technology can do a wonderful job of teaching students problem-solving skills.
