Education officials in Louisiana's Jefferson Parish have brought in outside researchers to study their school's special-education programs and services. The study will focus on a sample of nine schools and will include interviews with principals and special-education staff, as well as data on student performance and attendance, among other factors. "This information will be helpful as we realign district resources to improve services to families and students with the most cost effective method of delivery," schools Superintendent James Meza said.
