Cloud computing holds appeal for many companies, but a report finds not enough of them are doing all their homework before making the leap. A poll by IT industry association CompTIA found that fewer than one-third of enterprises making the transition to cloud computing have engaged in a comprehensive review of their provider's security practices. Charles Weaver, of the MSPAlliance, recommends a third-party audit that reveals everything from the provider's security practices to its financial health.
