With 11.7 million unique visitors monthly and an unusual stronghold in the Midwest, photo-sharing website Pinterest crossed the 10 million mark sooner than any other startup social network, according to comScore. Upper-income young women are dominant on the site, and the average user spends 98 minutes there each month, a figure topped only by those for Facebook and Tumblr.
