Patients whose severed peripheral nerves were repaired using allograft achieved meaningful recovery in 89% of cases involving sensory nerves, 86% involving motor nerves and 77% involving mixed nerves, according to a multicenter observational study published in Microsurgery. Recovery was achieved regardless of injury type, length of nerve gap, patient age and type of nerve, study leader and plastic surgeon Darrell Brooks said.
