Tokyo Electric Power will get an additional $8.8 billion in financial aid from Japan to compensate those affected by the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear incident. The Japanese government, however, won't proceed with a fund-injection plan for TEPCO unless it secures enough voting rights. "If TEPCO submits a business plan seeking a capital injection [from the government] without sufficient voting rights relative to the size of injection, I have absolutely no plans to approve it as long as I am in this position," said Japanese Trade Minister Yukio Edano.
