Williamson County, Texas, is enjoying the advantages of using propane autogas to fuel 31 county-owned vehicles, eight of which run solely on autogas, while the rest can also run on gasoline. The county received assistance from the Department of Energy, the Texas Railroad Commission and the Alternative Fuel Excise Tax Credit to buy the vehicles and install six autogas fueling stations. "It's going to be a wait-and-see, but we'll gradually add more propane. And hopefully, there will be more grant money to come through that would help us offset [the conversion costs]," said county Commissioner Ron Morrison.
