The New Bolton Center at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine houses a semi-feral horse herd that offers veterinary students unique opportunities to observe how horses behave in their natural setting. "It is a great living laboratory for students to see how horses interact under normal social situations, meaning that they’re out there and we don’t interfere with anything," said Sue McDonnell, head of the Equine Behavior Program.
