Attempting to spur innovation through formal projects and meetings could be counterproductive, writes Carol Kinsey Goman. A recent study suggests that 80% of significant innovations arise through informal settings in which people can relax and bounce ideas off one another. "It may be as simple as hiring great people, making sure they meet one another, and letting them talk," Goman writes.
