Despite pursuing more advanced degrees, Canadian women are less likely than their male counterparts to get involved in entrepreneurship. Women business owners also tend to run smaller companies, but that may not be the case for long. "The most recent Canadian data show that the proportion of women-owned businesses that intend to expand their businesses is higher than men [-owned], and has increased," said Beata Caranci of TD Economics.
