The world's biggest offshore wind farm is now operational in the Irish Sea. The $1.6 billion, 102-turbine Walney wind farm is a joint venture between utilities Dong Energy, SSE and OPW, a consortium of Dutch pension fund PGGM and Ampere Equity Fund. The 367-megawatt wind farm will generate enough power to supply 320,000 homes annually.
