Some experts say Apple should use some of its cash reserves to buy Twitter, allowing the computer company to fully integrate the social service into its products. But Mathew Ingram writes that Apple can get most of the benefits of an acquisition far more cheaply through a simple strategic partnership with Twitter, and in doing so would avoid creating unnecessary rivalries with other social media outfits. "It could be that Facebook has no intention of ever partnering with Apple ... but acquiring Twitter would likely remove any chance of the two ever working together in even a small way," Ingram writes.
