The Removing Barriers to Colorectal Cancer Screening Act of 2012, which eliminates copayments for screening colonoscopies that result in removal of a polyp or lesion, has won the support of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Charlie Dent, R-Pa., eliminates unexpected charges after a screening colonoscopy is deemed a therapeutic procedure because polyps are removed.
