An increasing demand for IP services such as mobile data is expected to drive a surge in the Asia-Pacific region switching and routing market, pushing the region ahead of North America for SPSR growth in 2012, according to research firm Ovum. Research found that the Asia-Pacific region is second only to the Middle East and Africa for mobile-data growth, which will help drive annual SPSR growth of 9.7% this year and will generate $20.5 billion in sector revenue by 2017, Ovum said.
