A U.K. study in the British Medical Journal found that premature babies were more likely to develop health problems at ages 3 and 5 than babies born at term. Babies born early, even at 37 or 38 weeks gestation, had a higher risk of asthma or wheezing or suffering a long-standing illness than babies born at 39 to 41 weeks, the researchers found.
