The use of EHRs in a pediatric weight-management program increased weight and height measurements to 94% of children ages 2 to 17 in 2010, compared with 66% of children before EHR implementation. Researchers also found the rate of overweight or obesity diagnoses increased from 12% in 2007 to 61% in 2010, while the rate of documented obesity counseling increased from 1% to 50%. The findings appear in the Journal of Pediatrics.
