The Consumer Electronics Association says its monthly Index of Consumer Technology Expectations came in at 88.9 in March, up more than 3 points from the previous month and representing a 10-point increase compared with March 2011. Shawn DuBravac, CEA's chief economist and senior director of research, credited this month's launch of the new iPad, along with new smartphones and television sets, for the boost in technology spending sentiment.
