Type 2 diabetes patients who took exenatide once a week for up to 84 weeks had better A1C levels and body weight than those who had daily insulin glargine treatment, a study in Diabetes Care found. Researchers also discovered the rates of minor hypoglycemia were only 24% in those who took exenatide, compared with 54% in glargine-treated patients.
