A study of 302 children with asthma showed that those with a food allergy had a 63% lifetime rate of at least one hospitalization compared with 40% among those without a food allergy. Researchers also found that 73% of children with a food allergy used a controller drug, compared with 58% of children without a food allergy. The findings were presented at an American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology meeting.
