German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said efforts to adopt a tax on financial transactions in the euro zone are hopeless. "We just can't get it done," Schaeuble said. He said several EU nations, notably the UK, will not support the tax. However, Schaeuble said he is optimistic that some EU countries will implement an enhanced stamp duty on financial transactions, including derivatives.
