US District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald rejected a request from investors suing large financial institutions for documents related to the US Justice Department's investigation into possible manipulation of interbank offered rates. The judge cited a letter from the department. "To me, it is simply too much to have them piggyback on the government's investigation at this stage," the judge said. "It is quite clear from the Department of Justice's letter that they would have serious problems with my granting the request."
