The Kansas House voted 92-30 last week to approve a bill that would require private health insurers to cover behavioral therapy and other treatments for children age 19 and younger with autism spectrum disorders. The bill calls for an annual coverage of up to $36,000 for children with autism from birth to age 6 and $27,000 to age 19, Rep. John Rubin, R-Shawnee, said.
