Transportation officials in Minnesota and Wisconsin are working to get their plans in order so that they "can move forward at a rapid pace" once the White House signs the bill to allow construction of a $626.4 million bridge over the St. Croix River between the two states. A load test project could start this summer to help develop a better bridge design, but the four-lane bridge is proposed to have an "extra-dosed" design, mixing elements of cable-stayed and post-tensioned box girder designs.
