Psychotherapy sessions helped terminally ill cancer patients achieve a better quality of life, at least for a while, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center researchers reported in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. Dr. William Breitbart said psychotherapy could be a tool for palliative care clinicians to use to help patients deal with issues such as the loss of meaning or feelings of demoralization.
