A Rhode Island school district will increase the price of school lunches by 15 cents in the fall. The increase -- from $1.50 to $1.65 at elementary schools and from $1.60 to $1.75 at middle and high schools -- is intended to comply with a new federal law requiring schools to close the gap between the reimbursement rate for free and reduced-price meals and the amount charged to other students.
