The danger presented by Europe's sovereign-debt crisis to global economic growth has greatly diminished, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told a U.S. House oversight committee. "In the past few months, financial stresses in Europe have lessened, which has contributed to an improved tone of financial markets around the world, including in the United States," Bernanke said.
