Telefonica says it's planning to significantly broaden its Terra unit's "SundayTV" online-video service in an effort to take on Netflix and others in the Latin American market. Terra is negotiating partnerships with content providers and television manufacturers, and hopes to more than triple its subscriber base by the end of 2012, executives say. "We want to be in all Latin American countries in the first half of the year. And there is a plan to reach, possibly by year-end, the U.S. and Europe too," Terra CEO Fernando Madeira said.
