Interior Secretary Ken Salazar was pleased with his tour of North Dakota's Bakken Shale, saying it allowed him to see the oil-drilling boom that has generated revenues and thousands of jobs in the state. His trip comes as his department unveiled programs to expedite permit procedures for onshore oil and natural gas drilling. "For me, what is really incredible about the Bakken ... [is] how it has become ground zero for oil and gas production," Salazar said.
