The Bureau of Land Management has issued its final environmental study for Anadarko Petroleum's proposal to drill more wells in Utah's Uinta Basin. Anadarko's plan involves the drilling of 3,675 wells from 1,484 pads, but the company agreed to exclude a canyon wilderness site on the White River from operations. The proposal delivers "the significant, long-term economic benefits of these resources in a manner that protects air and water quality, wildlife and the scenic quality of the White River," said Brad Miller, the company's regulatory affairs manager.
