The rising number of states experiencing increases in construction employment is encouraging, says Ken Simonson, chief economist of the Associated General Contractors of America. An analysis by the AGC showed that 30 states added construction jobs between February 2011 and February 2012, two were stable, and 18 shed jobs. "[T]he industry is still struggling in too many states to declare that construction is in full recovery," Simonson said.
