General Electric retained its position as the biggest supplier of wind turbines in the U.S. in 2011, followed by Vestas Wind Systems and Siemens, according to the American Wind Energy Association. GE captured 29.4% of the market last year, while Vestas and Siemens got 28.9% and 18.1%, respectively, AWEA said. The three companies maintained their dominance of the U.S. market for the sixth straight year, accounting for 76.4% of all delivered turbines.
