You'd think that mobile designs would draw on conventional Web design principles, but instead mobile sites require a bit of rethinking, writes Matt Whitaker. Users' activities on applications and mobile websites are reminding designers that stripped-down, streamlined interfaces are often more user-friendly than the complex, crowded designs found on many websites. "Other platforms should look to mobile as an example of sticking to the basics," Whitaker writes.
