Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, said the fund this week received commitments from Poland and Switzerland, raising the total to $320 billion. The IMF is striving to increase its firepower for dealing with eurozone debt crises. "Ensuring that the fund has sufficient resources to tackle crises and to promote global economic stability is in the interests of all our members," Lagarde said.
