High-fidelity three-dimensional images developed using a micro-CT scanner plus iodine allow scientists a new view of the tissue that generates each contraction of the heart, according to research published in PLoS One. Lead author Jonathan Jarvis says the technique will improve understanding of heart rhythms and help physicians limit damage to heart tissue during surgery.
