Mojave High School, as one of four low-performing schools in Clark County, Nev., received $2 million in federal funding to make improvements under the federal "turnaround" method, in which the principal and half the staff were replaced. While more improvements are needed, student achievement and graduation rates are up, the school is now taking a data-driven approach to education, and educators and students say the culture of the school has changed for the better.
