Twitter has announced an "Innovator's Patent Agreement" -- essentially, a pledge that patents derived from its employees' work won't be used for offensive litigation. That could help Twitter increase creative output and reduce the degree of patent trolling plaguing the tech industry. "Ultimately, that's good for Twitter -- and for any company that looks to make its money by innovation rather than litigation," writes Joe Brockmeier.
