Norfolk Southern's $160 million yard-expansion project in Bellevue, Ohio, is expected to create 275 new jobs and modernize the flow of freight transportation across the Class I's network, the company said. "This project will help us improve asset utilization and efficiency, enhance customer service, strengthen our entire 22-state system, and further confirm Ohio's importance to freight-rail transportation," said Mark Manion, NS chief operating officer. The project is also deemed to be NS' largest classification yard once it reaches completion in 2015.
